The story gives good perspective on Ivy's pre-Rachel life and how in general the living vampires function in this world. If you are an Ivy fan you will enjoy it. Otherwise it's not so important if you want to skip it. I was mesmerized by the banshee woman. I would appreciate more interactions with such creatures :).
